I will be entering my 2nd year of teaching 6th grade math as well as an Honors 6th grade class.  I am in Godley, TX and I have been teaching 19 years with most of that being in Reading and Social Studies.  I really enjoyed teaching math last year and am looking forward to build and grow on what I accomplished last year.  We don't have a very good textbook, nor did we have a curriculum, so I found myself searching for curriculum materials myself.  I am currently writing the 6th grade math curriculum/scope for my district. I will have 5, 50 minute classes as well as an enrichment period.  Our campus is considered an Intermediate campus with 5th and 6th grades.  Godley is a small, but growing district.  We will have about 150 students per grade level.  Personally, I have 3 children. My oldest son is a Junior in college, my middle son is a high school freshman, and my youngest daughter is a 6th grader. I will also be teaching my daughter, which will be a new thing for me.  I am excited for what this year will bring as well as allowing this program to guide me to be the best teacher I can be for my students.
