I teach 6th grade on-level and PreAp math in Texas.  We follow the standards of the Texas TEKS.  I have been teaching in Texas for 12 years, however my first assignment was Basic Math with special education students.  Overall, I'm on my 23rd year of teaching where I spent 4 years in Illinois and 6 years in Missouri. We just moved back to a single class schedule after 5 years on a daily double block.  Our class periods are 47 minutes long with an average of 30 kids per class.
